THE CVEC
What is the CVEC?
All students enrolled in an initial training program at a higher education institution must obtain a certificate of payment or exemption from the Contribution de vie étudiante et de campus (CVEC) before registering. It allows you to :
- Supporting students,
- Strengthen prevention and health education initiatives,
- Support student projects and associations,
- Develop culture, art, sports and activities on campus.
The CVEC contribution, amounting to €105 in 2025/2026 (payable to CROUS), is compulsory.. Your school certificate will be sent to you upon receipt of your CVEC certificate.
Exemption is automatic on the CROUS website once you have received notification of a conditional scholarship award.
You will need to provide us with proof of payment of the CVEC when you register.
Exemptions
The following are exempt:
- Student refugees,
- Students benefiting from subsidiary protection,
- Students registered as asylum seekers and entitled to remain in the country,
- French government scholarship holders and regional health and social training scholarship holders.
Get your money back?
You have paid your CVEC while :
- you are a scholarship holder
- you qualify for an exemption
- you are enrolled in a course that does not require payment of the CVEC
The CVEC refund application campaign for 2023-2024 is open until May 31, 2024.
CVEC and work-study schemes
For work-study students, the type of contract determines whether you have to pay this contribution.
Professionalization contract
The student is not subject to tax, as he or she is covered by continuing professional training. Do not register if the professionalization contract has already been signed.
ATTENTION: if you are looking for a contract, you must subscribe to it. You will be able to make a reimbursement request to the CROUS if a contract is signed for the 2024-2025 school year.
